Biography

Dr Kartik Venkatraman is the Director of Acacia Waste Management Solutions P/L (AWMS). He is also associated with Federation University Australia and University of Newcastle researching on waste; particularly bottom ash, phytocapping and PFAS in biosolids.

Prior to starting AWMS, Kartik has been with Local Government for over a decade and has been part of the waste industry for more than 15 years. He has managed waste operations, developed and implemented strategies/plans, written tenders, conducted audits/assessments/reviews/analysis and undertaken research whilst his tenure in Local Government.

Kartik is an active member of Waste Management Association of Australia; and has engaged and contributed to various working groups, workshops, seminars and conferences. He has also chaired the Local Government Network Group (QLD). His research on “Phytocapping of Landfills” has been well acknowledged nationally and internationally.
