Can waste be the answer to regional economic development?
The recent closure of Hazelwood Power Station and Carter Colt Harvey has resulted in large job losses across the Gippsland Region and a blow to the local community. Both the local community and government have a number of initiatives in place to grow and attract new business to the region to stimulate economic growth. The waste industry could play a role in transition of the Gippsland economy.

This seminar is aimed at highlighting how wsate can play a role in generating new industry for local economies as well as reducing the amount of waste that ends up in landfill.
