Vic Hazardous Waste Working Group

The Victorian Hazardous Waste Working Group is a working group of the Waste Management Association of Australia (WMAA). The Group was formed to promote and improve the hazardous waste industry in Victoria. It provides support, information, advocacy and leadership to waste industry professionals who have an interest in hazardous waste.

Objectives of the working group are:

  • To share knowledge on key issues and developments in hazardous waste
  • To be an open channel of communication between transporters, facility operators, regulators and other stakeholders
  • To inform and influence policy on issues relating to hazardous waste in Victoria
  • To provide input into state issues through the WMAA Vic Branch

Membership of the Victorian Hazardous Waste Working Group is open to all financial members of WMAA. Members generally consist of hazardous waste transporters, facility operators, local and state government, consultants, technology providers and academics.

The Working Group has a representative on the WMAA Vic Branch Committee.
Meetings are held on an as needs basis and teleconference facilities are provided for members in regional areas.
