Young Professionals

About Us
Generally, we are under 35 (or young at heart!) and working or seeking work in the waste management industry in Victoria . Our members work in all of the diverse sectors of the waste industry: manufacturing, landfills, waste treatment, materials recovery facilities, environmental consulting, local Councils, Regional Waste Management Groups, EPA, Sustainability Victoria, law and education. We’re interested in learning more about the waste industry beyond our own day-to-day work and further developing our networks in this area.

We offer the following types of events to Young Professionals, with an event scheduled every two months
* Tours of waste management facilities;
* Technical / professional development seminars; and
* Social events.

We're also looking into developing mentoring schemes between
* young professionals and senior members of the Association; and
* university students and young professionals.

Mission Statement
To provide a forum for career development and networking for young professionals working or seeking work in the waste management industry.
