Necessary and Responsible
|
| Introduction |
|
Landfill SA was formed in June 2006 by a group of landfill operators servicing the landfill needs of metropolitan Adelaide. This group has guided the formation of the organization to date.
|
| Vision |
|
In 2010 we will:
- be recognised as a necessary and responsible environmental management component of the state’s waste infrastructure,
- have established high performance working relationships with the EPA, ZWSA and industry, focussed on achieving environmental best practice in landfill management,
- play a key strategic role in the ongoing development of policy related to managing the state’s various waste streams, and
- work toward co-operative resource recovery from the landfill when viable end markets for resources can be developed and demonstrated.
|
| Objectives |
- Change public profile and perception of landfills in SA,
- Have industry input to the EPA landfill guidelines review,
- Collaborative policy development, and
- Stay abreast of emerging best practice (including alternatives exploration)
