Waste Educators SA Working Group

Profile

The South Australian Waste and Environmental Educators Working Group came together from interested members of the South Australian AWARE Group and include waste educators, environmental managers, consultants and researchers from Local Government, the South Australian Department of Education, the Northern Adelaide Waste Management Authority, the South Australian Research and Development Institute, One World Solutions, Keep South Australia Beautiful and Flinders Bioremediation Pty Ltd.

Benefits

The SA Waste Educators Group members benefit greatly from supporting and learning from each other based on their professional roles and varied experiences in the field of environmental education. It is a great networking opportunity within South Australia and other interstate educators working group. The SA Waste Educators Group also operates as a group sharing common views and designing projects to help tackle critical waste management issues within South Australia.

Our Goals
  1. To connect waste and environmental educators and share information and experiences
  2. To identify, share and learn best practice in waste education and behavioral change
  3. To ensure constant networking between waste educators, waste management and recycling industry and communities
  4. To raise the profile of environmental education including waste minimization and avoidance and issues relating to climate change
  5. To act as a sharing group for local waste management issues affecting South Australian Councils, businesses and local communities and develop projects to help tackle them
Members

The SA Waste Educators Working Group is a group of waste educators and environmental officers working within Local (metropolitan and regional Councils) and State Government; and consultants working within the waste and environmental management industry. Membership is on a voluntary basis. Members must have the WMAA membership (individual or corporate) to participate.
