Young Professionals NSW - Committees/Contacts

The YP working group consists of committed professionals from a variety of private and government organisations including environmental consultants, state and local government representatives, waste educators, tertiary students in relevant disciplines and waste management industry professionals from resource recovery facilities, treatment facilities, landfills, recyclers and transporters.

Current role: Research Analyst

Ylva Engqvist 
Current role: Environmental Consultant
Organisation: Hyder Consulting Pty Ltd
Qualifications: Bachelor of Chemical Engineering (Chalmers University, Gothenburg, Master of Environmental Engineering Management (UTS), Graduate Certificate in Management (UTS)
Experience:  Over 3 years experience in project management, waste management planning, waste management strategy development, lifecycle assessments, review of landfill emissions, and design of waste projection models and carbon accounting tools.

Joshua Hayden
Current role:  Technical Officer – Waste Management
Organisation:  Camden Council
Qualifications:   Bachelor of Environmental Science (UWS)
Experience:  3 years experience in local government waste management operations and administration, project management, waste education, development assessment and planning, data analysis and customer service.

Colleen Wong
Current role:  Project Officer, Sustainability Programs
Organisation:  Department of Environment, Climate Change and Water
Qualifications:   Bachelor of Environmental Science (Honours Class 1) (UNSW), Master of Environmental Management (UNSW) (in progress)
Experience:  2 years experience in local government waste management operations and waste education. 2 years experience in state government, managing projects focused on increasing local government environmental sustainability.
