On 23rd March 2004 the WMAA (NSW Branch) launched the Alternative Waste Treatment Working Group. More than 40 people attended the establishment meeting to develop the terms of reference and mission of the Working Group.
Representatives were drawn from all relevant sectors and stakeholders including industry, providers of technology, waste generators and regulators. A steering committee was established to guide the Working Group's activities.
Membership of the Working Group is open to all interested parties and stakeholders. A particular invitation is extended to State and Local government representatives who are in the main the regulators and purchasers of this technology.
Mark Stammbach and Mike Ritchie of SITA were elected Chair and Vice Chair of the Working Group respectively.
If you would like further information on the membership of the Working Group please contact Veronica at the WMAA on veronica@wmaa.asn.au.
