This course has been designed for waste management industry personnel, including those who may work, supervise or manage those who may be required to work in the vicinity of live electrical equipment.
The Training Package was an initiative of the WMAA Queensland Branch and was developed in conjunction with leading players in the industry in Queensland through Industrial Safety and Environmental Services (ISES), the registered training arm of Ergon Energy Corporation.
It aims to provide participants with the underpinning knowledge to be able to recognise and ensure the requirements of a safe work environment in relation to waste management operations near exposed live electrical equipment.
Upon successful completion, this course delivers the competencies required for waste management operators to seek approval from the owners/authorities in control of the electrical parts to operate as an “Authorised Person”.
Currently available in Queensland, Victoria and South Australia only.
