The WMAA was heavily involved in the development of the original Waste Management Competency Standards and the subsequent review and development of additional competencies. 

The Association owns several training courses which are available for suitably qualified members to deliver to the industry. In addition, WMAA has developed links with some tertiary institutions and provides input on course content.
