The Waste Management Association of Australia SA Branch entered into a voluntary agreement with the South Australian Government to work towards implementation of practical and cost-effective actions that seek to reduce greenhouse gas emissions associated with the collection, handling, transportation and management of household waste in SA and to develop tools to encourage industry partners, company staff and other external stakeholders to implement similar measures with other waste streams. WMAA SA, with funding support from Government of South Australia and the LGA SA, have commissioned Think Climate for the development of a greenhouse gas calculation tool for reporting on emissions produced from municipal waste collection. |
