Summary:

Rawtec Pty Ltd and Mike Haywood - Sustainable Resource Solutions have undertaken an analysis of resource recovery activities servicing Metropolitan Adelaide for the EPA and Zero Waste SA.  The preparation of the report was assisted by information contributed by industry. We wish to give you the opportunity to attend an open presentation to industry regarding:
- the contents of the report and its findings
- the implications of the report for the development of guidance materials, and
- the next steps involved in the development of guidance materials.

Summary:

The Waste Management Association of Australia SA Branch entered into a voluntary agreement with the South Australian Government to work towards implementation of practical and cost-effective actions that seek to reduce greenhouse gas emissions associated with the collection, handling, transportation and management of household waste in SA and to develop tools to encourage industry partners, company staff and other external stakeholders to implement similar measures with other waste streams. WMAA SA, with funding support from Government of South Australia and the LGA SA,  have commissioned Think Climate for the development of a greenhouse gas calculation tool for reporting on emissions produced from municipal waste collection.
