Over the past decade the UK has experienced a significant reduction in the quantities of waste being landfilled. Andy Street, a Director of UK waste management firm SLR, will discuss how that has occurred and other developments in UK waste management. The influence of landfill tax, EU Directives and other policies will be discussed along with any potentially applicable lessons for Australian local government, industry and policy makers. |
