
Compost Australia Objectives
1. To establish a credible, viable and representative peak organics industry body.
2. To establish and support programs for the development of the organics industry.
3. To gain recognition of the organics industry as a key contributor to urban & rural sustainability.
4. To encourage increased professionalism across the organics industry.
5. To identify common organics industry priorities, and advocate for their implementation by government and industry.
6. To strive for the environmentally responsible recovery and management of compostable organic materials.
7. To actively support the development of agricultural markets for compost products.
8. To establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
9. To support the development of relevant product standards, and encourage their adoption by both producers and users.
10. To establish communications systems for the organics industry to:
- Access and disseminate information relevant for the development of the organics industry;
- Enable organics industry consultation, and facilitate organics industry decision making;
- Inform and influence key stakeholders and decision makers.
11. To provide formal response and comment on issues and policies affecting the organics industry.
12. To co-ordinate relevant and collaborative research and development nationally.
Member Communication
Compost Australia members have their email address registered on a secure email list server, and can communicate efficiently by sending emails to: compostaustralia@wmaa.asn.au . ONLY registered financial members can post to this list. All registered committee members on the list receive postings.
This email discussion list provides a forum for Compost Australia members to discuss and resolve issues, and to make timely decisions. Postings (emails) to the list can only be sent and received from your registered email address, which in most cases means emails posted to the list will need to be sent by you, or from your computer.
Email List Features
1. It is a closed list (in the sense that only registered Compost Australia members can post information on the list.
2. Once subscribed, members are able to post freely without moderator approval (ie. member postings are not screened).
3. This ensures no one but subscribed members can post messages - so no spam, no advertisements and no eavesdropping.
4. Messages emailed to the list address by members are automatically distributed to all list members.
5. List management service: A list manager can manually add/remove email addresses in response to direct email requests.
6. The process ensures we have one list only, and that all division members receive the same information.
7. Allows distribution of attachments of up to 1 MB. Larger attachments will not be transmitted.
