To facilitate the development of sustainable waste management services in the Pilbara region and support State Government initiatives such as the Pilbara Cities of the North.

Objectives for Sub Branch
|
- Identify waste streams (including waste generated, in consistent categories for major sources across the Pilbara and include commentary on variability in volume/mass; waste type) to assist in working toward sustainable waste management in the Pilbara.
- Seek support from the State Government to achieve the mission of the Pilbara Sub Branch.
- Identify local issues which inhibit sustainable waste management (eg logistical limitations; availability of waste services; variability in waste types, volumes; industry waste management standards; future requirements).
- Identify local solutions (specific to the environment of the Pilbara).
- Networking (with the whole spectrum of those involved in waste management in the Pilbara, including generators, processors and those dealing with disposers).
- Networking and bringing expertise (local, national and international) to the Pilbara to assist with sustainable waste management.
- Keep informed on climate change/carbon accounting activity and identify the potential impacts on the regions waste management activities.
