The WMAA is proud to be running the National Landfill Excellence Awards, and the National Transfer Station Excellence Awards for the second time in 2009.

These awards are aimed to promote and reward great facilities all over the country, and encourage best practice in landfill and transfer stations.

The winners of the 2009 Awards have been announceed.  For more information about the winners and to view the submissions please follow links on the right.

The receipients of the 2009 National Landfill Excellence Awards are:

Winner:
Hanson Landfill Services’ Wollert Landfill (Vic)
   
Runners Up (Joint):
Brisbane Waste Innovations Alliance Landfill and Renewable Energy Facility (Qld)
Bundaberg Regional Council Cedars Road Landfill (Qld)

The winners of the 2009 National Transfer Station Excellence Award are:

Best Large Transfer Station:
Transpacific’s Resource Recovery and Waste Transfer Facility (SA)
Runner up: IWS’s Resource Recovery and Transfer Station (SA)
   
Best Small Transfer Station:
Wodonga Council’s Transfer Station & Resource Recovery Centre (Vic)
Runner up: Kangaroo Island Council’s Resource Recovery Centre (SA)
